How Central Review and Rater Training Optimized Endpoint Quality in 5 MDD Trials

Signant's Central Review and Rater Training services played an important role in optimizing endpoint quality in five clinical trials for major depressive disorder (MDD) by helping to ensure consistent, accurate scoring of site-based assessments.

Our raters compared paired, site-independent scores derived from audio recordings of Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) interviews to the original site-based ratings. This method of quality control gave insight into the reliability of site ratings and provided feedback that would improve through-study accuracy.

In each of these trials, central raters optimized signal detection of treatment-related differences, mitigated inter-rater and intra-rater variability, and enabled opportunities for rater remediation. Read our case study for more details.
